Sport students complete Tag Rugby Leaders Award

Some of our Sports students recently completed their Tag Rugby Leaders Award!

20 students from the level 1 Certificate in Sport, level 3 Diploma in Sport and level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport took part in the session with the Saints Community Development Foundation.

The session started with a 45 minute theory lesson, discussing coaching skills, leadership, tag rugby and contact elements, including some classroom based tasks.

The students then took part in a 45 minute practical session, learning how to coach and deliver the sport, covering the rules, regulations, tag and contact elements, kicking and refereeing and officiating games.

For many of the students this was their first experience of Rugby League, with the coaches highlighting their engagement and enjoyment with the sport.

The two coaches were particularly impressed with level 3 student Marcus for taking lead of the course, praising his brilliant attitude and delivery.
