College Celebrates Excellence at Knowsley Education Awards: Apprentice Chelsie Secures Outstanding Achievement Honor

The College attended a night of celebration, marking the exceptional achievements of our some students and staff members at the annual Knowsley Education Awards. The award ceremony took place at the Shakespeare North Playhouse, honouring the best of education in Knowsley during the borough’s 50th-anniversary celebrations.

The College received nominations in three categories, including two for the Outstanding Achievement Category featuring Computing and IT student, Harvey, and Electrical Installation Apprentice, Chelsie. The Construction and Engineering team also earned recognition for their contribution to the ‘Krazy Kart’ project in collaboration with the local charity, “Your Voice, Your Choice”, with a nomination for the STEM Project of the Year Award.

The event was a wonderful evening of recognition for many innovative and dedicated individuals working across education in the borough, as well as our talented and ambitious students.

The night was marked by success, with Apprentice Chelsie winning the award for Outstanding Achievement (Post 16). Chelsie’s exceptional progress since starting her apprenticeship in September led to her nomination. Plumbing tutor, Charlie, and student, Tom, represented the Construction and Engineering Team, as they received high commendation for their significant contributions to the Krazy Kart STEM project.

Clare, Director of Apprenticeships at Knowsley Community College, praised Chelsie, saying “As a promising young apprentice at Tyrell Electrical, Chelsie has relentless drive and motivation setting high standards for herself. Her exceptional performance at the SPARKS Female of the Year competition, despite being a first-year entrant, is a testament to her unique abilities. Chelsie is not only an aspiring Electrician but also a potential role model in the sector, inspiring other females with her amazing story.”
