Celebrating Results Day 2023
August 17, 2023
Knowsley Community College and St Helens College celebrated results day today with staff, students and their friends and family.
There were lots of hugs and happy faces as students collected their results with many securing a place at their first-choice university, whilst others enter employment or on to further training or an apprenticeship.
Level 3 Computing and IT student, Kieran, has achieved an impressive D*D*D in his results and is now progressing on to Liverpool Hope University to study Computer Science.
Speaking about his success, Kieran said: “I am so happy with my results! I have always had an interest in computers and how technology is developed, and I am looking forward to developing my skills even further at university. In the future I hope to be working in robotics or artificial intelligence.”
Aspiring Physiotherapist, Ben, has achieved an impressive D* after completing the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity.
Ben joined the College from West Derby School and will be moving to Chester in September to study Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Chester.
Ben said: “I have really enjoyed my time on the course. I had a great relationship with my tutors, Dan and Joe and I had lots of opportunities to develop my skills like working with local primary schools to delivery sports sessions.”
He added: “When I left school, most of my friends decided to stay on at sixth form and I decided to take a different path. I wanted a new challenge and was excited to meet new people. Now looking back, I am so glad I made that decision for me and not because of what all my friends were doing.”
Level 3 Early Years students and best friends, Katie, Lauren, Sophie and Millie achieved fantastic grades.
A* student, Katie, is looking forward to progressing to Edge Hill University to study primary education alongside her friend Lauren, who also achieved top grade, A! They both aspire to be Primary School Teachers in the future.
Meanwhile students, Millie and Sophie, who also proudly achieved a grade A, are keen to continue working in the sector, with Millie securing employment with Little Einstein’s Nursery as a Nursery Practitioner, where she completed her work placement alongside her course, and Sophie with her sights set on becoming a Teaching Assistant.
D*D*D student, Will, is off to study Architecture at Liverpool John Moores in September, after completing the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design.
Will is “so happy with his grade.” He said: “I’ve worked really hard this year and I feel like it’s paid off. I’m excited to start university in September.”
Proud mum, Aimee, is “absolutely delighted with Will’s grade and everything he has achieved so far. He’s worked so hard, spending every spare minute doing the best he can on his course. I couldn’t be more proud.”
Aspiring Doctor, Sylvia achieved D* on the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care!
Sylvia said: “I’ve really enjoyed my College experience and have made some great friends. I also had the opportunity to undertake a work placement with Whiston Hospital, working across various departments. I have since secured employment as Bank Staff there, whilst I work towards going to university.”
