BLOG: Your guide to GCSE Results Day 2022

Are you receiving your GCSE results this Thursday? You may be excited, nervous, uncertain or a mix of all three. We’ve put together this handy guide with everything you need to know about Results Day!

When is Results Day and what do I need to do?

Results Day is on Thursday 25th August. You’ll need to go to your school or college to pick up your results. Your school or college should have contacted you to let you know what time to collect your results, or this information may be on their website.

I’m nervous! How can I prepare for Results Day?

Being nervous is perfectly normal! You’ve worked so hard and it’s only natural that you want to do your very best. But remember, all the hard work is done now- you’ve tried your best, and there’s nothing further you can do.

Take the time to relax and be proud of the work you’ve put in. You may want to remind yourself of what you need to do after you get your results- this will be different depending on what you plan to do next.

If you’ve applied to study with us, keep reading for advice on how to enrol on your chosen course. Get plenty of sleep the night before Results Day, and remember that grades aren’t everything! There are things you can do even if Results Day doesn’t go exactly how you planned it would.

What should I bring with me?

When collecting your results, you should bring any College/Sixth Form acceptance letters with you, along with the contact information of the College or Sixth Form you want to go to. It’s a good idea to bring a pen with you, along with a drink in case you have to wait. Don’t forget your phone- your family will be excited to hear how you did! If you’re enrolling with Knowsley Community College, you’ll also need to bring photo ID (your passport), along with your National Insurance number.

I’ve sat my GCSEs with Knowsley Community College, how do I get my grades?

Your GCSE results will be ready to collect from our Main Campus Library from 9.00am – 1.00pm on Thursday 25th August (Results Day). If you don’t collect them, they will be posted out to you, as well as sent electronically to your College email address.

If you’re progressing on to another course with us this September, it’s then time to enrol. To do this, head over to our Main Campus on Stockbridge Lane. Click/tap here for more information on enrolment.

What do I do once I have my grades?

Once you’ve collected your results, called your family and given yourself a pat on the back, it’s time to enrol! If you’ve applied to study with us at Knowsley Community College, you’ll need to attend one of our Enrolment Events.

Our first School Leaver Enrolment Event is taking place on Results Day, Thursday 25th August from 9.30am – 7.00pm, at our Main Campus on Stockbridge Lane. These events can get busy, so if you’d like to pre-enrol and book your slot before you come and visit us, click/tap here to do this.

If you can’t make it on Results Day, don’t worry; we’ll be enrolling on Friday 26th August, from 9.30am – 4.00pm. No need to pre-book- just turn up on the day and we’ll finalise your enrolment.

What happens if I don’t get the grades I need?

Most importantly, don’t panic. This isn’t the end of the road.

If your grades aren’t what you expected, you may have the option to re-sit an exam or re-submit a module of work. Speak to your teacher at school or College about this.

If you’ve applied to study a course with us at Knowsley Community College, and are worried about your grades, speak to one of our members of staff at Enrolment. We have a number of options available alongside our courses, for those who may need extra support, with their GCSE maths and English.

I haven’t applied to Knowsley Community College, can I still come to an Enrolment Event?

Make sure you bring along your results, along with photo ID (your passport) and your National Insurance number.

Whatever you choose to do next, we wish you the very best of luck! If you’re looking to study with us in September, then we’ll see you at one of our upcoming Enrolment Events! Click/tap here to visit our dedicated enrolment page for more information.
