“After completing my course, I’ve realised it’s never too late for further progression!”
Adult learner, David, decided to return to education to back up his years of work experience in Accounting with a nationally recognised qualification!
David explained, “I have wanted to gain a nationally recognised qualification for a while now, after having worked in the accounting department at Matalan for over six years, but thought financing this as an adult learner would be difficult. After attending an enrolment event, I found out that I could receive funding for the course and felt the timing was perfect!”
David first found out about Knowsley College through a colleague at work, who had already completed the course. He says, “Aside from the recommendation, I chose Knowsley College as the campus is close to my work. With only needing to attend College one evening per week, I found the course fit perfectly around work and home life!”
Reflecting on his experience David says, “I wasn’t sure what to expect after returning to College after so many years but I’ve really enjoyed it and felt settled from day one. My tutor has been a great support and I’ve made some great friends in my class, which has been really helpful when completing assignments.”
Hoping to encourage others David says, “Now that I have achieved my qualification, I want to keep on developing my knowledge to see where it takes me – I’m in my 40s and I’ve realised it’s never too late for further progression!”
