This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.
This short introductory course is an engaging programme for those with a clear interest in the vocational area of Science. It will help develop the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to prepare for employment or move onto a level 2 qualification.
When will I start the course and how long will it take?
This course is due to start on Friday 27th January 2023. You will attend college for one day from 9.00am – 4.30pm.
This course will take place at our Main Campus, Huyton, Liverpool, L36 3SD.
What will I study?
Topics covered include:
- Biology
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
How is it assessed?
You will be assessed on your theoretical and practical skills for each unit. All units must be achieved in order to pass the course.
Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?
There are no formal entry requirements. All you will need is commitment, enthusiasm and an interest in the subject area.
What are the course fees?
You may be eligible for Community Learning funding if you have not recently participated in a similar Community Learning programme, or received any other recent government-funded training.
There are a number of fee options for this course including:
- If you are unemployed – FREE
- If you are employed – £30
What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?
You may wish to progress on to GCSE Science or the BTEC National Diploma in Applied Science, providing a high standard of work is achieved during the introductory course.
