This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.
Based in our commercial hairdressing salon, this course is designed to develop your practical skills in the creative art of styling women’s hair.
You will learn a variety of artistic techniques which will allow you to create a range of hair designs using professional products and tools.
This qualification will develop your skills in hairdressing and enable you to perform your own salon services. It will also provide you with the foundation to progress onto further learning.
When will I start the course and how long will it take?
This course starts in January and will take 12 weeks to complete. You will attend College on a Friday afternoon, from 1.00pm – 3.00pm.
The course is delivered at our Main Campus, Huyton, L36 3SD.
What will I study?
During this course you will cover the following units:
- Blow drying
- Finger drying
- Smoothing and straightening
- Scalp and hair conditions
- Hair growth patterns
- Hair conditions and textures
- Shampooing and conditioning
- Health and safety in the salon
How is it assessed?
You will be assessed throughout the course by a combination of practical observations and portfolio building. You will be fully supported by your tutor with any assessments.
Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?
You do not need any formal qualifications, just passion and a commitment to your studies.
What are the course fees?
The cost of this course is £75.
What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?
Upon completion of this course, you may choose to progress onto a level 2 qualification to further develop your knowledge and skills.
This qualification may also lead directly into employment in the hairdressing industry.
