This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.

Based in our commercial salon, you will have an exciting opportunity to provide a range of treatments such as eyelash and brow treatments, facial skincare, waxing, manicures and pedicures to paying clients.

First class client care and customer service plays a key role in ensuring a professional and enjoyable salon experience.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

This course will start in September and will take one year to complete.

This course is delivered at our Main Campus, Stockbridge Lane, Huyton, L36 3SD.

What will I study?

During this course, you will cover the following units:

  • Provide facial skincare
  • Remove hair using waxing techniques
  • Provide eyelash and brow treatments
  • Apply makeup
  • Client care and communication in the beauty related industries
  • Provide manicure treatments
  • Provide pedicure treatments
  • Follow health and safety practice in the salon
  • Salon reception duties
  • Provide nail art
  • Provide eye lash perming
  • Apply skin tanning techniques

How is it assessed?

You will be assessed throughout the course by a combination of practical assessments, written assignments, end of module exams and portfolio building.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Once you have completed this course, you will be able to progress on to one of the following:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy
  • Level 3 Certificate in Swedish Massage
  • Level 3 Diploma in Theatrical, Special Effects, Hair and Media Makeup
  • Level 3 Diploma in Makeup Artistry

Alternatively, you may want to gain employment as a Beauty Receptionist, Makeup Consultant, Sales Representative or become self-employed.

Additional Information

As part of this programme you are required to wear a uniform. There is also a kit required to complete your assessments which can be purchased from a recommended supplier. You may be eligible for financial support to cover these costs. More information is available upon application.
