BTEC Technical Diploma in Digital Technology

About

This qualification is for learners who want to start a career in Digital Technology. It is designed for post-16 learners and can be taken as part of a wider study programme. It is an ideal qualification for learners intending to progress directly to employment in Digital Technology, IT or to an IT apprenticeship.

Digital Technology

Entry requirements

At least 4 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade D (new grading 3), including English and/or maths. Or, Pass/Merit in a relevant full Level 1 vocational programme (a minimum of Merit for BTEC courses), and working at Functional Skills Level 1 maths/IT as appropriate to course.

Finance

If you are a school leaver, aged 16-18, (under the age of 19 on or before 31st August 2018), you do not pay tuition fees or examination and registration fees. Our financial support service, known as ‘College Pays’, is designed to assist students with the costs involved with studying at College. Depending on your circumstances, we have different levels of support.

  • Creating digital multichannel applications
  • Understanding IT network features and functions, common practices in network security, and the function and features of the main network appliances
  • IT service solutions and the issues encountered in IT solutions in an organisation
  • Setting up new equipment and upgrading existing systems
