Important Updates, Information and Guidance
Update: 25th April 2022
Living with COVID-19
As we learn to live safely with coronavirus (COVID-19), there are actions we can all take to help reduce the risk of catching COVID-19 and passing it on to others. These actions will also help to reduce the spread of other respiratory infections, such as flu, which can spread easily and may cause serious illness in some people.
There are simple things you can do in your daily life that will help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory infections and protect those at highest risk. Things you can choose to do are:
- Get vaccinated.
- Let fresh air in if meeting others indoors.
- Practise good hygiene:
- wash your hands
- cover your coughs and sneezes
- clean your surroundings frequently
- Wear a face covering or a face mask.
In line with Government guidance, from 27th January 2022, face coverings are no longer mandatory in social spaces and corridors at College.
We do however recommend that you continue to wear a face covering in crowded and enclosed spaces where you are unable to remain socially distanced.
If you have symptoms of a respiratory infection, such as Covid-19, and you have a high temperature or do not feel well enough to come into college, you are advised to try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people.
Under these circumstances we would also request that you undertake a Covid-19 lateral flow test. The College has a supply of test kits and students should not need to purchase these. You will need to request a lateral flow test from one of our main receptions.
Should you test positive for Covid-19 you must let your tutor know straight away.
Report your LFT results (negative, positive, void) via the Government website here.
Vaccines remain the best defence against COVID-19; helping to protect young people and adults and those around them from severe illness. Vaccination also makes people less likely to catch the virus and pass it on. All eligible students are therefore encouraged to take up the offer of the vaccine, including boosters.
