AAT is the world’s leading professional membership body for accounting technicians, with over 100,000 members worldwide. It is the UK’s largest awarding body of skills-based qualifications in accounting.

The level 1 AAT Access Award in Bookkeeping is designed to help those less experienced in accounting to gain the skills and confidence to build a career in business or accountancy.

It will introduce you to the role of a bookkeeper and simple bookkeeping techniques. You will learn to understand the role, financial transactions, process customer and supplier transactions and process receipts and payments.

It is ideal for those with little or no experience and are looking to take their first steps into accounting to improve their chances of finding work, trying a potential new career or developing a new skill.

Owners of small businesses may also find this qualification useful as it gives coverage of the keeping of a single entry bookkeeping system, suitable for the production of small business accounts.
