Liverpool City Region Employer of the Year 2014 Winners Announced

The winners of the prestigious Liverpool City Region Apprenticeship Awards have been announced, during an exquisite event on the 20th June at Lord Derby’s estate in Knowsley. The night was a celebratory affair with some of the region’s most committed employers and most promising apprentices in attendance. Coinciding with the International Festival of Business, the 2014 Liverpool Region Apprenticeship Awards were bigger and better than 2013, with the event hoping to continue to grow from strength to strength.

The employers, as well as the apprentices, were honoured on the evening and awarded for their ongoing support of the young people of Merseyside. The Businesses in attendance continue to invest in staff and are making a real difference to the young people involved. The awards were a chance to thank the employers and celebrate all their hard work.

The New employer of the year award went to Sarah Noonan hairdressing. With the help of the training provider Mode Training, Sarah Noonan has shown great commitment to the Apprenticeship programme and is a great new business for the area.

The winner of the Employer of the year (SME) was Evolve Facility Services. Along with their training provider Knowsley College, Evolve have developed innovative methods to support their apprentices in every step of their placements.

The Employer of the year (Large) was awarded to Aintree University Hospital Trust whose training provider is West Cheshire College. The Hospital have trained 500 apprentices in the last 5 years with 25% of those going on to senior posts in the company.

The winner of Employer of the year (Macro) was Unilever. Unilever understand the value of apprenticeships and are very much committed to the training of young people.
