This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.

This course is designed for those who want to pursue a career within plumbing and heating.

You will explore everything from plumbing installations to gaining an understanding of low carbon technology and renewable energy.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

The course will start in September and will take one year to complete.You will attend college three days a week.

This course will take place at our IAMTech Campus, Princess Drive, Liverpool, L14 9ND.

What will I study?

During this course, you will cover the following:

  • Health and safety and industry practices
  • Plumbing processes
  • Electric and scientific principles
  • Cold water
  • Hot water
  • Central heating
  • Sanitation and drainage

In addition to this, you will have the opportunity to gain some work experience within the construction industry.

How is it assessed?

During this course, you’ll be assessed through an end of year exam and practical synoptic exercise.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

You should have successfully achieved a level 1 Plumbing qualification or have achieved a grade 4 or above in English and maths.

What are the course fees?

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Upon successful completion of this course, you will have the opportunity to progress on to the level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Plumbing, based at our St Helens STEM Centre Campus, to enhance your skills and knowledge.
