This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.
This advanced course takes your skills and knowledge to the next level, gaining a more in-depth understanding of running a successful business.
You will explore everything from corporate identity, buying and business procedures to creating complex floral designs and arrangements for a range of events.
When will I start the course and how long will it take?
The course will start in September and will take one year to complete.
The course takes place at our Main Campus, Stockbridge Lane, Huyton, L36 3SD.
What will I study?
During this course, you will cover the following units:
- Diverse flower and plant care
- Creative design process for florists
- Diverse tied floral designs
- Diverse floral designs for weddings and formal occasions
- Diverse floral designs for funerals
- Diverse floral arrangements
- Negotiate and agree terms of sale within the industry
- Function and event decorating using floral designs
- Working in the industry
How is it assessed?
You will be assessed by written and practical assessments. You will be fully supported by your tutor.
Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?
You should have successfully achieved a level 2 Floristry qualification.
What are the course fees?
Course fees are dependent on your personal circumstances and you may be eligible for funding. For more information on the financial support that may be available, please visit our financial support pages.
If you are aged 19 or over, you could also choose to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover your course fees enabling you to study now, pay later. Loan eligibility is not dependent on income or employment status and there is no credit check. Loan repayments do not start until you have finished your course and earn over £25,725 per year. What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?
Upon successful completion of this course, you may wish to secure employment within the floristry industry or progress on to our HND Business at University Centre St Helens.
This qualification could help you to become:
- An assistant florist
- A wedding flower coordinator
- A flower shop supervisor/manager
- Proprietor of your own floristry business
After taking these qualifications, you could go on to a level 4 Higher Diploma in Floristry or a level 5 Master Diploma in Professional Floristry.
These further qualifications could give you the skills and knowledge you need to run your own flower shop.
