This exciting course is specifically designed to prepare you for a successful career as an employed and/or self-employed Beauty Therapist.

You will delve into the science behind beauty therapy treatments, by exploring anatomy, physiology and electrical science.

You will also provide a range of beauty treatments including skin and body analysis, face and body electrical treatments and Swedish massage.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

This course will start in September and will take one year to complete.

This course will take place at our Main Campus, Huyton, Liverpool, L36 3SD.

What will I study?

During this course, you will cover the following units:

  • Health and safety in the salon
  • Client care and consultation
  • Body analysis
  • Skin analysis
  • Swedish massage therapy
  • Body electrical treatments
  • Facial electrical treatments
  • Electrical science
  • Stone Therapy
  • Anatomy and physiology for the face and body systems

How is it assessed?

You will be assessed by practical observations carried out within a realistic working environment, portfolio evidence, external examinations and a graded synoptic assessment at the end of the course.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

You should have four GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English or maths and a level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification.

What are the course fees?

If you are a school leaver, aged 16-18, (under the age of 19 on or before 31st August 2025), you do not pay tuition fees or examination and registration fees and may be eligible for additional support depending on your financial situation. What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Once you have completed this course, you will have developed the skills, experience and knowledge necessary to enter the industry. You may even wish to travel the world working on cruise ships, build your clientele in a local salon or spa, embrace the rewards of retail sales or even grow your own business!

Additional Information

As part of this programme, you are required to wear a uniform (tunic), which will be worn with black trousers or a skirt and a full black shoe. Our recommended uniform supplier is Florence Roby. There is also a kit required to complete your assessments which can be purchased from our recommended supplier, Dennis Williams. More information will be provided during the application process and you may be eligible for a bursary to cover these costs.
