Students walk 10k in memory of tutor

Health and Social Care students from both Knowsley Community College and St Helens College took part in a sponsored 10k walk around Delamere Forest this week in honour of their tutor Maureen, who passed away earlier this year.

Maureen is described by the students as a kind and supportive tutor who was always there for her students and would listen to them when they needed. She loved to tell students inspirational quotes and always had time for a story, laugh and a joke.

Maureen was always the main character as soon as she walked into the room, she brightened everyone’s day and always put other people before herself.

The money raised will be put towards a memorial dedicated to Maureen and a donation to Alzheimer’s UK, a charity that Maureen felt very strongly about.

The students have already raised £590, passing their goal of £500.
