Performing Arts Students Take Part in West End Workshop
October 23, 2017
Former Knowsley College student Adam Lyons paid a visit to the college on Friday for an afternoon with current Performing Arts students.
Adam studied Performing Arts with the college in 2010 before moving onto London Studio Centre School and paving a career performing on stage.
Fresh off a stint touring nationally on the Dirty Dancing stage show, Adam treated the students to a workshop and choreography tutorial in all things Dirty Dancing.
Students learned a dance routine to a medley of songs from the stage show adaptation of the cult film and took valuable hints and tips from the industrial professional, including advice on how to break into the performing arts industry.
Students have said that Adams progression from Knowsley Community College to his career now has been an inspiration to them, with many of them wanting to follow in his footsteps. Adam commented that Knowsley College enabled him to develop as a performer, saying; “my confidence grew so much and the tutors I had were amazing”.
Adam is set to perform at the upcoming Royal Variety Performance before setting off on tour with Strictly Come Dancing’s Anton du Beke.
