Local employer Tyrrell Electrical shares industry insight in support of #NAW23

In support of National Apprenticeship Week, we welcomed one of our local employers, Tyrrell Electrical Contractors Ltd, to our IAMTech Campus to deliver a talk to our first year, Electrical Installation Apprentices.

Managing Director, Jamie Tyrrell was joined by two of his current employees, Will Roberts and Kieran Cluskey, to share their insights on the industry.

The College has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Tyrrell Electrical for over seven years and currently have seven apprentices with us. They continually take on an average of three apprentices each year, supported by our free recruitment service.

Will was Tyrrell’s first ever apprentice who started with the business 8 years ago and is now a supervisor. Kieran, is one of our current apprentices who has just recently completed his AM2s exam in readiness to become a fully qualified Electrician. The pair shared their personal journeys and offered their advice to the apprentices when it comes to completing their portfolios.

Many of our apprentices work in domestic settings, so it was great for them to have an insightful look at commercial projects, the various roles available within the industry and what their careers could lead to in the future.

A huge thank you to Tyrrell Electrical Contractors Ltd for giving their time and sharing their knowledge!
