Globetrotting Former Student Returns to College to Share his Story

Our Sports department were excited to welcome former Sports student, Conor, back to College to speak to our budding Sports students about life in the industry, including his time working as a Football Coach overseas, and to discuss local employment opportunities for our students with his new Football Academy!

Conor studied with us in 2010 on our Level 3 Diploma in Sport, where he had the amazing opportunity to take a trip to America as part of his studies.

After really enjoying his time in the US, Conor decided to stay, and went on to secure a role as a Soccer Coach with Challenger Sports. His new role saw him travel across the country to some incredible destinations including the likes of Colorado, Utah, California, Canada, Ontario, and Alberta.

When Covid hit in 2020, it had a massive effect on Conor’s work and resulted in him coming back home to the UK.

Since returning home, Conor has successfully launched his very own Football Coaching Business, EF92 Academy, based in St Helens. The Academy runs regular Football Camps/Sessions at Carmel College for local children from reception age through to year 7, along with football parties ran at Sutton Leisure Centre.

As part of his visit, Conor discussed potential coaching roles and work experience opportunities available with EF92 Academy, a great opportunity for our students looking to bolster their CVs and kick-start their careers in the coaching industry!

We’d like to thank Conor for returning to College; he is an excellent role model for our current students, and his success is living proof of what they can achieve.
