Enriching Experiences at IAMT
March 16, 2017
KCC students from our Institute of Advanced Manufacturing and Technology have been enriching their study programmes with a few educational excursions lately. Plumbing students took to Fiddlers Ferry Power Station to learn how the station produces electricity in a reliable and sustainable way. Staff from the power station delivered specific educational objectives to the students, covering issues such as safety, environment, sustainability and much more.
Learners from Engineering visited the Merseyside Maritime Museum in Liverpool’s Albert Dock, touring exhibitions focused on the social and commercial history of the port of Liverpool and had great fun dressing up in period clothing.
KCC recognised the efforts of its top IAMT students with a Go Karting trip as a reward for not only 100% attendance but also an outstanding attitude towards learning. Learners travelled to Manchester firstly for a practice day in the karts and then a second time to race, with one team reaching the Grand Final due to take place in April. The trip proved to be a great enrichment activity and incentive for other students.
Good Luck to those racing again in April!
