College Staff Wellbeing Day 2023
July 7, 2023
The College was excited to hold a Wellbeing Day recently, bringing together staff members from across all campuses before the summer break.
College Principal, Simon Pierce, launched the day with a warm welcome to staff, thanking them for their dedication and hard work throughout the academic year, before presenting a staff awards ceremony.
Certificates and vouchers were presented to staff who had achieved significant milestones in their service, including those who had worked for the College for 10, 20, and 30 plus years!
Awards were also presented to staff who had been nominated by their colleagues for recognition of ‘Innovation in Teaching’, ‘Providing an Outstanding Learner Experience’, ‘Developments to Curriculum, ‘Living the College Values’, ‘Unsung Hero’ and ‘Colleague of the Year’.
Staff then enjoyed a morning of wellbeing activities, ranging from meditation sessions with My Monkey Mind and Positive Life Workshops, to sensory rooms, laughing yoga, resilience building with NHS Mersey Care, a visit from Therapy Dogs Nationwide, and an escape from reality with virtual reality headsets. There were also lots of information stalls such as a free will writing service and occupational health checks.
After a lunchtime BBQ, the day ended with an all-staff ‘Field Day’, seeing staff members from across all College departments go head-to-head in a range of sporting activities, including an egg and spoon race, obstacle course, relay races and more.
Our Services to People department took home a victory hamper full of goodies, with Engineering and Progress Coaches coming in second place, and the English and Maths department scooping third. All teams received medals for taking part!
