College Highlights 2020

January 2020: Staff and students explore worldviews at 13th annual Faith Fair.
February 2020: Students gain career inspiration in support of Visitor Economy Week.
March 2020: College ‘makes an impact’ during National Apprenticeship Week.
March 2020: Over 250 young people attend annual Healthcare Sciences Skills Show.
March 2020: Catering Students win silver at Regional Culinary Skills Competition.
April to July: During a time of difficulty and uncertainty, we couldn't be more proud of the incredible actions of our staff and students this year. Including: Staff supply over 180 laptops to support students with online learning, supported learning tutor Denise and her daughter complete virtual running challenges and donate Easter baskets to Alder Hey Hospital, Catering and Hospitality students cook and bake delicious treats for elderly neighbours, NHS, staff and teachers. Our student Mike produced 2,100 face masks for hospital and care centre across the north west of England, our student Oliver produces medical ventilators alongside his colleagues at Beverston Engineering. Health and Social Care students alumni work as key workers and front-line staff during the pandamic. Our IT Technician Matt raises £1000 after running 20 miles in support of Willowbrook Hospice. Our students Beth, Alex, Bradley, and Oliver produce community pieces for Heart of Glass, documenting value of 'care'. Our Estates Team organise the supply of PPE to frontline staff at Whiston Hospital.
August: 100% A level pass rate with 100% of students progressing to university.
August 2020: 85% of Bachelor Degree graduates achieve a First or 2:1.
September 2020: Simon Pierce is appointed as new CEO and Principal.
October 2020: Brand new School Leavers’ Virtual Open Event platform launches.
November 2020: Fine Art Painting degree students showcase at 'Inner Space' degree show.
December 2020: 72% Overall Apprenticeship Achivement Rate
Through out the year: Kind-hearted staff and students fundraise and donate items tosupport vulnerable communities during the Christmas period.
