University Centre St Helens (UCSH) Degree‑Level Courses
- FdA Early Years Practice (Full-time, evening study) – a two‑year Foundation Degree ideal for those working or volunteering in early years settings, providing essential theoretical knowledge and practical skills for professional practice.
- BA (Hons) Early Years Practice (Top‑Up) (Full Time or Evening Study) – a one‑year top‑up degree designed to deepen professional understanding and develop advanced skills aligned to Early Childhood Studies benchmarks.
- HND Early Years Professional Leadership for England (Full Time) – a one‑year top‑up degree designed to deepen professional understanding and develop advanced skills aligned to Early Childhood Studies benchmarks.
Adult Work‑Based Qualifications
All qualifications are completed alongside your job role or placement and are fully assessed in the workplace with dedicated tutor support and no college attendance required.
- Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) – a two‑year qualification that develops learners into confident, well‑qualified Early Years Practitioners with strong practical skills and a secure understanding of child development.
- Level 4 Certificate for the Early Years Advanced Practitioner – a two‑year course designed for experienced practitioners who want to enhance their leadership, mentoring, and specialist practice within early years settings.
- Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning – a one‑year introductory qualification providing the essential knowledge and skills needed to support teaching and learning in schools or colleges.
- Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning – a one‑year qualification ideal for developing staff into confident, well‑qualified Teaching Assistants with strong practical competence and understanding of classroom practice.
- Level 4 Certificate for the Advanced Practitioner in Schools and Colleges – a one‑year course aimed at experienced support staff who wish to take on mentoring, specialist, or leadership responsibilities within school or college environments
