This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.
The course is for candidates who internally quality assure assessors and assessment, but who do not manage the centre or other internal quality assurers.
The Level 4 Internal Verifier Quality Assurance Award is a mandatory requirement for anyone internally verifying National Vocational Qualifications or other qualifications such as BTECs.
When will I start the course and how long will it take?
The course will start in September, and will take one year to complete.
What will I study?
During the course you will gain knowledge and skills in how to effectively ensure quality assurance for assessment processes and practices.
How is it assessed?
Assessment is by observation of the candidate completing internal verification within the workplace. A portfolio of evidence will be generated for evaluation which will show how the candidates has demonstrated their knowledge and understanding and practical ability to plan, monitor and evaluate the quality of assessment. The candidate will require a minimum of two assessors to assess for this purpose.
Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?
You should have a professional qualification and/or have demonstrated occupational competence within the vocational area you intend to verify. You must hold D32/D33 or A1. You will also be required to attend an induction followed by a development day. Regular reviews will be held on the internal verification process and portfolio building and tutorials will also be offered. Candidates will be observed during the internal verification process.

The total cost of this course is £727.
What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?
Successful candidates can progress on to complete a further unit for those who have wider quality assurance responsibilities such as becoming the Lead Internal Quality Assurer (which is an optional additional unit).
