This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.
This course is ideal for those who have valid experience in the health and social care sector and are looking to formalise their work with a qualification.
The course will allow you to learn, develop and practise the skills required for career progression within adult care.
When will I start the course and how long will it take?
This course has flexible start dates and will take up to two years to complete.
Attendance at College is not required, as the qualification is delivered within the workplace. You will be assigned a tutor/assessor at the beginning of the course, who will work with you throughout the programme.
What will I study?
During the course, you will study the following units:
- Work in partnership in health and social care or children and young people’s settings
- Personal development in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings
- Facilitate person centred assessment to support wellbeing of individuals
- Understand personalisation in care and support services
- Professional practice in health and social care for adults or children and young people
- Safeguard children and young people who are present in the adult social care sector
How is it assessed?
This course is assessed in a variety of ways including observations, assignments, questions and answers, presentations, case studies and assessments. The majority of assessment will be work-based, using real experiences, written assessments and observations, case studies and presentations.
Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?
This is dependent on your level of experience and the employment title you currently hold. You should have a level 3 qualification in a relevant area, however, you will receive initial advice and guidance with an assessor upon application or enquiry.
What are the course fees?
The total cost of this course is £2,882.
If you are aged 19 or over, you could also choose to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover your course fees enabling you to study now, pay later. Loan eligibility is not dependent on income or employment status and there is no credit check. Loan repayments do not start until you have finished your course and earn over £27,295 per year. What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?
On successful completion of this course, you may progress on to the level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and other short courses in the care sector.
