Knowsley Community College 2019 Prospectus

HORTICULTURE 145 Apprenticeships are a great way to develop your skills and experience on-the-job, whilst gaining a recognised qualification. One of the many benefits is, you’ll get paid to do it. An apprenticeship is an actual job, meaning that you’ll spend more time out in the workplace than in the classroom. So if you prefer to learn by doing, then an apprenticeship is a great place to start. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS A grade 4 or above in your English and maths GCSEs is preferable. WORK-BASED HORTICULTURE This apprenticeship supports various roles in the industry from Landscaper and Greenkeeper to Horticultural Technician, Head Gardener and Landscape Designer. You’ll complete various tasks such as sowing seeds, maintaining green spaces, planting bulbs and ornamental plants and developing plant identification. HORTICULTUREAPPRENTICESHIPS
