HORTICULTURE 143 LEVEL 1 PRACTICAL HORTICULTURE SKILLS You’ll gain an insight into the industry and the practical skills required to progress onto the next level of study. You will learn how to use essential gardening tools and explore everything from creating hanging baskets, planting containers, preparing grounds for seeding or planting and applying organic mulch correctly. Entry Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for this course. Just passion and commitment to your studies. Duration: 1 year. Progression: Level 2 Practical Horticulture Skills. LEVEL 2 PRACTICAL HORTICULTURE SKILLS Enhance your practical skills in green spaces across the borough and develop an in-depth knowledge of plant identification and soil testing. You will also elevate your experience of handling a variety of tools and equipment such as hedge trimmers, mowers and grass trimmers. Entry Requirements: You should have successfully completed a level 1 horticulture qualification. Duration: 1 year. Progression: You could progress onto an apprenticeship or into employment.
