134 LEVEL 2 DIPLOMA IN HAIRDRESSING (TECHNICAL CERTIFICATE) Develop your knowledge and understanding to meet the national occupational standards and acquire the skills to consult clients and provide a range of cutting, colouring and lightening services. You will learn the relevant anatomy and physiology and gain an awareness of environmental sustainability. Entry Requirements: Four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths. Duration: 1 year. Progression: Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing. LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA IN HAIRDRESSING Advance your skills and explore essential salon management knowledge including client consultation, financial planning, health and safety and product promotion. You’ll learn how to provide a first class salon experience to maintain positive relationships with clients. Entry Requirements: Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above in English and maths and a level 2 hairdressing qualification. Duration: 1 year. Progression: You could progress onto an apprenticeship or into employment. LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN BARBERING Develop the required skills, knowledge and experience to become a successful employed and/or self- employed men’s Hairdresser. Based in a commercial salon, you will enhance your cutting techniques when cutting men’s hair and facial hair. Entry Requirements: Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English and maths. Duration: 1 year. Progression: Level 3 Certificate in Barbering. LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATE IN BARBERING Advance your skills using a variety of techniques to creatively cut and style hair and learn the intricate work of cutting facial hair. You will also explore health and safety in the salon working to a supervisory role. Entry Requirements: You should have successfully completed a level 2 barbering qualification. Duration: 1 year. Progression: You could progress onto an apprenticeship or into employment.
