You will be assessed by examinations at the end of year 13. What will I study? How is it assessed? What can I go on to do once I have completed this? This two-year A level explores the pivotal role that law plays in our society and its affect on many aspects of our lives, from protecting our human rights to enforcing justice. You will evaluate legal positions while developing your knowledge of the legal system. You will also explore contract law, criminal law and civil disputes such as negligence and investigate case studies before arguing your conclusions. There are many degree courses and careers that you could progress on to, including the BA (Hons) in Criminal Justice at University Centre St Helens. A level Law could lead to a number of careers such as: • Journalism • Teaching • Management • Public relations • Local and central government 61 A LEVEL LAW “ Through learning the law, we can better understand how to make a positive difference in society. ” You should have at least five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths.
