You might even decide to look for a higher apprenticeship, enabling you to earn some money whilst continuing your studies. The business sector is broad and has plenty of career opportunities across a variety of industries from finance, IT and healthcare to marketing, retail and hospitality. You should have five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths. Entry Requirements You will study the following: • Issues involved with creating a business start-up, such as research, planning, and the factors that determine success • How established businesses might improve their effectiveness • Larger businesses which may be trading in international markets, and how managers might measure the performance of the business • How businesses manage change successfully You will be expected to be aware of current affairs which have an effect on business. This will enable you to put what you are learning into context.
