Entry Requirements You will study the following: • Biological molecules • Organisms and how they exchange substances with their environment • Genetic information, variation and relationships between organisms • How energy transfers in and between organisms • Organisms and how they respond to changes in internal and external environments • Genetics, populations, evolution and ecosystems • The control of gene expression You will also undertake practical work in the laboratory using various techniques such as: • Using microscopes to see cell division • Dissection of animal or plant systems • Investigating activity within cells What can I go on to do once I have completed this? Studying A level Biology allows you to go on to study a range of degrees at other universities or at University Centre St Helens, studying FdSc Applied Microbiology, validated by prestigious university partner, University of Chester.
