This course will provide you with the theoretical knowledge and practical understanding of the business sector.

You will explore a range of topics such as personal and business finance, recruitment and selection and will also have the opportunity to pitch a new business idea, develop and execute your own marketing campaign and plan and manage your own event.

You will also experience business first-hand through a work placement with a local employer.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

The course will start in September and will take one year to complete.

This course will take place at our Main Campus, Huyton, Liverpool, L36 3SD.

What will I study?

During this course, you will cover the following:

  • Exploring business
  • Developing a marketing campaign
  • Personal and business finance
  • Managing an event
  • Recruitment and selection
  • Pitching for a new business

There is also an opportunity to undertake a two-week work placement with a local employer. Your tutors will be able to support you to do this.

How is it assessed?

You will be assessed by a range of different methods such as coursework, an online exam, assignments, projects, reports and discussions.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

You should have four GCSEs at grade 5 or above including English and maths.

What are the course fees?

If you are a school leaver, aged 16-18, (under the age of 19 on or before 31st August 2023), you do not pay tuition fees or examination and registration fees and may be eligible for additional support depending on your financial situation.
