JOB VACANCY - APPLICATIONS ANALYST/DEVELOPER 12 Months Temporary – Ref: SA47/3 - 29/07/2010

Salary: £20,604 - £28,539 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)

The Information Services section of Knowsley Community College is looking to recruit a Graduate in IT/Computing who will work with the rest of the data team to develop and implement software solutions that meet the needs of the College.

The Developer should have a strong background in using ASP.NET and SQL Server to create fully-functional Web Applications. Applicants should have application development experience in a broad range of end user environments and must exercise solid judgement in choosing the most appropriate approach to solving complex problems.

Applicants with experience or an interest in Microsoft SharePoint are encouraged to apply.

Skills & Experience

SQL Server 2005 / 2008 and Reporting Services (not essential)
Web programming background using HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, ASP, ASP.Net, C#
Good communication skills - ability to communicate at all levels
Solution design experience, involving gathering functional requirements
Experience of both team working and working individually on projects
