Course Description
This is a one year practical and work-related course for anyone wishing to work within the care sector. It is designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required for current and future employmentin the child care, health and education sectors. Practical placements are an integral part of the programme and students will have to complete a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
Entry Requirements
GCSE resits: Minimum 4 Grade Ds one of which must be English and/or Maths Pass in relevant Level 1 Vocational Qualification and overall Merit for BTEC Courses and working at Key Skills/Functional Skills Level 1 English (Maths and IT may be needed)

Attendance Modes: Day
Assessment: Assessed through internal assignments, which include course work, work experience and portfolio evidence. You will learn through completing projects, role play and writen assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations and activities.
Progression Routes: This qualification enables candidates to enter employment at trainee level, for example: Care Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, Nursery Assistant. On completion of this course candidates could progress on to OCR Level 3, or a childcare course.
