Additional Diploma to Teach in the Life Long Learning Sector - Literacy
Course Description
This course is for teachers or potential teachers of English in the Lifelong Learning Sector. It is an evening course aimed at candidates already working within FE provision, whether voluntary, community, private or public organisations.The diploma explores language development, acquisition and use, the barriers to language acquisition and development and the theories of literacy learning. It also focuses on the teaching of literacy through planning, selection and development.

Attendance Modes: Day/Eve
Assessment: Students complete 6 written assessment tasks which are marked according to LLUK Level 5 indicators. Candidates are required to complete at least 75 hours of literacy teaching and to keep a teaching practice file (3PF) to required standards.
Progression Routes: The Additional Diploma is recognised as the subject specialism qualification required by most employers and is particularly sought after by Work-Based Learning providers.
