Modes of Study
Knowsley Community College has an excellent track record of community responsiveness. It makes sure the widest choice of courses is available to as many students as possible. Information on modes of study is available on every course fact sheet. Student advisers can give you impartial advice and explain your options in detail, so you will be able to make an informed choice about the courses and the college.
Full-time (FT)
Students are normally in college three to five full days a week for lectures and classes. It offers the shortest route to completion.
Part-time (PT)
This is one of the most flexible options to learn. These courses are designed to fit around work schedules and family commitments, allowing students to work at their own pace, often alongside full-time students.
Evening (EVE)
These courses were created with adults in mind, offering everything from leisure to A-Levels, from personal to professional development. Classes meet once or twice a week, and courses can run anywhere from six weeks up to two years.
Day Release (DR)
Typically, students on these courses are at college one day a week for a year. The programme's flexibility is aimed at full-time employees, who have the support of their employers.
Work-based Learning (WBL)
Less time in class and in college defines this learning programme, which offers students more work place exposure and practical field experience instead.
Distance Learning
With Learndirect, location and transportation is not an obstacle to learning. The programme offers students the opportunity to study at home, taking as much or as little time they need to complete a course.
