Performing Arts Student Highly Commended at Creative Writing Competition - 16/03/2010
Knowsley Community College Student, Matthew Parkinson, has been Highly Commended at the Library Service’s Creative Writing Competition 2010.
Matthew was presented with a voucher by local performance poet, Curtis Watt at the awards ceremony at the Huyton Suite on Thursday 4th March.
Matthew, a Performing Arts student at the College , regularly writes his own stories and scripts and was commended for his story entitled ‘The Multi Coloured Tiger.’
The story, which is aimed at children, contains a moral about racism, an issue which Matthew feels strongly about. He said, ‘I feel great to have been recognised for my work, the story contains an important message and I hope to share it as widely as I can. In the future I am going to continue with my writing and hopefully have some of my work published.’
