Learning difficulty
A trained adviser is here to meet the needs of learners with learning difficulties. They will support learning in a variety of educational settings and help learners to develop their confidence and skills.

Advisers work closely with tutors to make sure learners have every opportunity to succeed. Support may be given on a one to one basis or within a small group.

Support could include:
  • Assessments to help understand your learning support needs
  • In-class support, both in theory and practical classes
  • Help with taking notes
  • Explanation and help to understand work and instructions from tutors
  • Confidence building
  • Support to help raise self esteem
  • Access arrangements & adjustments for exams
  • Guidance to tutors on supporting learners with learning difficulties
  • Links with other agencies e.g. Connexions
