Adults (19+)
What can I study?

Adults over 19 years of age will find a varied selection of part-time and evening courses to match many interests and abilities. Whether you’re thinking about brushing up on your maths, or reading, and writing skills, Knowsley Community College offers many courses at all levels to suit your needs. Opportunities are well established for those wanting to gain computer skills and qualifications, as well as for those who may want to improve their career skills, getting ready for the challenges of gaining and getting on at work. Training courses for those interested in a family-friendly career as a Teaching Assistant in a school setting are especially popular.

Opportunities are available throughout the year at College centres in Roby and Kirkby, at the Learning Shop in Huyton, and also at many other venues across Knowsley.

Higher Education
Currently our higher education offer consists of Leisure and Tourism Management (full-time), Information Technology (full-time), Teacher Training (full and part-time) and Accountancy (part-time).

Professional Qualifications
From managerial, accounting to teaching qualifications, the College offers Level 4 and 5 courses to improve your skills within the work place onto a more professional level, consequently helping you improve your career prospects.

Vocational Education
The College offers hundreds of vocational courses at all levels. From Hair and Beauty and Travel and Tourism, to Motor Vehicle and Interior Design, we are sure that we will have the right course for you.

NVQ stands for national vocational qualification. These are available from Level 1 up to Level 4, and are work-based to further your skills in a specific career or industry.

Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships are open to all age groups above 16 year-olds whether you are just leaving school, have been working for years or are seeking to start a new career.

There may be different entry requirements for Apprenticeships depending on the occupational sector. You just need to be living in England and not taking part in full-time education.
